It is just about the most diverse country in Europe, and if you had to pick one part of it, Extremadura along with the Strait of Gibraltar area is unrivaled. Extremadura's grasslands hold notable populations of Great and Little Bustards, European Rollers, and even sandgrouse. The raptors here are also fantastic, including the Spanish Imperial Eagle and wonderful vies of European Griffons and Cinereous Vultures. Farther south, abundance in waterbirds at Cabo Doñana, and the spellbinding raptor migration at the Strait of Gibraltar is just fantastic. Multiple species of raptors, from honey buzzards, to Booted Eagles, Black Kites, and usually a surprise or two. It is a superb country to visit in the spring. Our dates are Mar 24 - Apr 7, 2025.
